Is Paris really upon us?! It seems a bit unreal that, twelve full
months ago, this Parisian adventure was just a potential plan I read about on a
sheet of paper I was given after I finished a presentation. Now, in a few short days, I will be in
the City of Lights!
These past few days have been
spent lusting after what is to come, and of course, gathering travel
items—finally it’s all becoming real!
I’m as giddy as a first-time traveler; in actuality, this will be my
second trip to Paris. I was lucky
enough to visit my cousin while she studied at the American University of Paris
a few years ago. I’m thrilled to
be going back—who wouldn’t love an excuse to visit Paris? And for a fashion major, traveling with
some of my fellow fashion students, this excursion will be all the sweeter. What better place to be, with such
fashion-minded people?
The other night, my cousin and I
reminisced about my visit to Paris, and I picked her brain for a few neat
places to see. We recalled how,
when last I was there, we tried in vain to see Versailles—but weather was just
not on our side that day. Torrential
downpours (which we were unprepared for) chased us away after waiting in line
for ages. I am eager to see the
famous palace this time! Karl Lagerfeld
is actually staging Chanel's cruise collection in the gardens at the iconic palace tomorrow, May 14; such a picturesque
locale for a fashion show—how fitting! (Ahh, timing!)
Until then, I’ve been listening
to French bistro music to get into the spirit of things… only three more days
until we disembark!
